Maximum prices are adjusted on a weekly basis, every Friday. The scheduled weekly adjustment on Friday is based on an average of the daily benchmark prices over the period from the previous Thursday to Wednesday. The weekly maximum price adjustments come into effect on Friday, at 12:01 a.m.
When the Board became responsible for the regulation of petroleum prices in 2004 maximum prices adjustments were made once a month. In November 2006 the price adjustment schedule was changed to bi-weekly, with new maximum prices effective every second Thursday. Weekly adjustment of maximum prices began in 2010, with new maximum prices effective every Thursday. Effective March 21, 2025 the Board began adjusting maximum prices each Friday.
