Question: 19
Does the US-CDN exchange rate impact the Board’s maximum prices?

The Board’s benchmark prices are based on daily prices reported in US cents/gallon. Therefore, the US-CDN exchange rate can have an impact on the Board’s maximum prices. Generally a stronger Canadian Dollar compared to the US Dollar would result in lower average benchmark prices and therefore lower maximum prices. Conversely a weaker Canadian Dollar would result in higher average benchmark prices and therefore higher maximum prices.
